A 4-Week Course with Karen van Vuuren

In 2008, Natural Transitions organized and hosted the first national green burial conference in the US (possibly the world), bringing together green burial pioneers from around the country in Boulder, Colorado. With keynote speaker, Joe Sehee, founder of the Green Burial Council, in attendance. In 2011, Natural Transitions brought Billy and Kimberly Campbell, founders of the first conservation burial ground, Ramsey Creek Preserve, for a film festival spotlighting films about life and death.

Karen van Vuuren, Natural Transitions co-founder, and instructor for this course, also co-founded Colorado’s first holistic and green mortuary, in which she participated for seven years. In this course, she shares her understanding of green funerary options as a consumer advocate, natural deathcare practitioner, and former funeral industry provider.
